Bad things happen to good people. People make bad decision. People make mistakes.
There are times where things will just go against you. Your world is caving in and everything seems lost. Your energy is drained. The day is just gloomy and nothing seems to cheer you up.
It happens to the best of us. It’s part of life – something bad will sooner or later happen. Some tragedy might occur. Someone will get hurt. You just hope that it won’t be you.
The best advice to get over your problems… accept it, take some time to reflect over it, then, get over it
It sounds cruel. But, there is no use to relive bad things over and over and over again. It will just keep reinforce the agony. It won’t be beneficial to the person and anyone around.
Some people are such perfectionists or too conscious about themselves that just can’t admit that they also have problems or made big mistakes. They would probably fee extremely embarrassed if anyone knew even their little tiny mistakes.
The truth is that our minds can play weird games on us. The more we think about our problems, the more we can over blow it. More likely, they won’t be a big deal as they are thought.
One thing that we should never be afraid of is our thoughts. We need to control how we think. In bad times, it will help us deal and reflect on the problems… and keep us thinking and acting reasonable.
If you have any bad memories that overtakes you, you need to control it. If you keep thinking about it over and over again, it will overtake you instead. Sometimes, you can probably feel it so much that you can smell and even taste it. It can trigger the unpleasant time and terrible experience… like reliving the moment again. Paralyzing you.
Unfortunately, bad memories will never go away… but, they can be shrunk to a point where you have control over it. This will help change your feelings about them.
If you think of your bad memories frequently, you need to break that habit. Shrink the memory in your mind as much as you can. Don’t let it be so big in your mind… keep it small. And make it smaller and push it away into the distance every time you think about it.
There will be a point where you will be able to dissociate the bad memory with your feelings. It can take time depending on how you are emotionally affected by the bad memory.
People can get stuck with the past. The more time time they stay with the past, the less time they have to move on and make good things happen in their lives.
Leave the problems in the past… where they really belong.
