Any formula that will guarantee a perfect life is doomed to failure.
As human beings, we cannot measure up to this high expectation. It’s a perfect road to stress, tension and unhappiness.
Looking over my life… perfection is not necessary to live a happy and fulfilling life. The human race got along well despites all the shortcomings. Through history, every popular historical figure achieved success by making major mistakes on the way.
We make mistakes. We made them in the past and will make more in the future. We are not perfect and would be nearly impossible to expect to be.
We can strive to do things perfect… but we should never get hung up if we do not achieve it. Doing your best is much better than being perfect.
Mistakes are part of life. You can’t avoid them nor keep from making them.
Instead of being perfect… keep doing and improving is better. It’s also a better guide. You’ll learn as you make your mistakes.
Baseball players bat between 0.200 and 0.300 average. That means that they hit 2 to 3 times out of 10 at bats. If they reach 3 out of 10, they are doing really good. If they go close to 4 out of 10, they are considered almost perfect.
Life is about the same. Sometimes getting it right 4 out of 10 times could be considered almost perfect.
So, keep that in mind. If you don’t get everything right… you might not be doing bad. You just need to keep doing and keep improving.
